Celebrating Cathy Stanton’s Dedication to Workers’ Rights with the Lewis L. Heller Beacon Award

Senior partner Catherine M. Stanton, Esq., was recently honored with the prestigious Lewis L. Heller Beacon Award by the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG) at its annual convention in Santa Barbara, CA.

Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano LLP is thrilled to announce that our very own Catherine M. Stanton, Esq., senior partner and head of the firm's workers' compensation department, has been honored with the Lewis L. Heller Beacon Award by the Workers' Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG). Presented at WILG's annual convention in Santa Barbara, CA, this prestigious award recognizes individuals who have demonstrated a lasting commitment to advancing the rights and protections of injured workers—a cause that has defined Cathy's career for over three decades.

Recognizing a Lifetime of Advocacy

The Lewis L. Heller Beacon Award, named after the late Lewis L. Heller, who was not only a prominent workers' compensation attorney but also a former partner at our firm, is awarded to advocates who exemplify dedication to the rights and welfare of injured workers. Cathy's relentless commitment to securing justice for injured workers across New York has earned her this well-deserved recognition from one of the nation's leading organizations dedicated to workers' rights.

As a former president of WILG and a current Member of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association Board of Directors, Cathy has shaped both state and national conversations on workplace safety, workers' compensation policies, and advocacy for injured workers. She is also the current president of the Brehon Law Society of Nassau County and has been inducted as a Fellow of the College of Workers' Compensation Lawyers.

A Legacy of Service and Community Commitment

Beyond her exceptional legal career, Cathy Stanton has also made significant contributions through community service. Whether through clothing drives for families impacted by natural disasters or her ongoing support for cancer organizations and local charities, Cathy has been steadfast in her commitment to giving back. As a Board Member for EAC Network, an organization dedicated to empowering and supporting families and individuals of all ages, Cathy's community impact extends well beyond the legal field.

“I am incredibly honored and humbled to receive this award,” Stanton said. “Lew Heller’s legacy serves as an inspiration to all of us who dedicate our careers to protecting workers’ rights. I am grateful to WILG for this recognition and proud to stand among so many who share a deep commitment to this cause.”

Empowering Injured Workers to Fight for Their Rights

As head of the workers' compensation department, Cathy has represented thousands of injured workers, helping them secure the benefits and compensation they deserve. From occupational disease cases to complex work injury claims, her dedication to her clients is unwavering.

Since 2007, Cathy has been named to the Super Lawyers list each year in the area of workers' compensation, and she has been honored by the Comp Laude Awards as the 2023 Applicant/Claimant Attorney of the year. Her accolades highlight her influence and commitment to her field, but her clients and colleagues know her best for her passion, determination, and compassion.

At Pasternack Tilker Ziegler Walsh Stanton & Romano LLP, we are proud to celebrate Cathy Stanton's achievements and look forward to her continued leadership in workers' compensation law. Her contributions inspire us all as we work toward a safer, fairer environment for New York's workers.
