Hosted at The Heritage Club at Bethpage, the event brought together some of the region’s most accomplished attorneys in a wide range of legal practice areas. Cathy was recognized not just for her decades of service to injured workers, but for her continued leadership within the legal community across New York and beyond.
A Career Built on Advocacy and Leadership
For more than 30 years, Cathy Stanton has been a tireless advocate for workers who’ve suffered on-the-job injuries and long-term occupational illnesses. She currently serves as Chair of the Workers’ Compensation Section for the American Association for Justice and is a director of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association. Cathy is also a past president of the Workers’ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILG), where she helped elevate national conversations about workers’ rights and compensation reform.
Her track record speaks volumes. Cathy has been selected to the Super Lawyers list every year since 2007 and was named the 2023 Comp Laude Applicant/Claimant Attorney of the Year. In 2015, she was inducted as a Fellow of the College of Workers’ Compensation Lawyers—one of the highest honors in the field.
